The Skidway Road Improvement Project is a 2 phased SPLOST project: 

Phase 1: Skidaway Road at Norwood Avenue / Ferguson Avenue
This phase includes improvements to the intersection of Skidaway Road at Norwood and Ferguson Avenues. Planned upgrades include:

• A new traffic signal

• Improved drainage

• Sidewalks on both sides of Skidaway Road

Final engineering design is currently underway.
Right of way acquisition began in Fall 2023.
Construction is anticipated to begin as soon as right of way is secured, with a target start in early 2026.

Phase 2: Skidaway Road at Montgomery Cross Road
This phase is currently in the conceptual stage. Two preliminary concepts are available for review:

• Concept A: Convert the existing signalized intersection into a roundabout

• Concept B: Close access to Central Avenue to create a T-intersection
